Project Overview
Group exhibition in Paris as a showcase of the results of the Artist Development Program 2025 featuring three Japanese artists. Presenting their work to French audiences, the exhibition became a space to put international career foundations into practice — gaining experience showing work in an international context, articulating concepts, and building networks through exchange with local art professionals.
The Artsceneアーティスト育成プログラム2025修了者3名が、パリに渡り展示したグループ展。フランスの観客に向けて作品を発信しながら、国際文脈での展示経験、作品コンセプトの言語化、フィードバック、ネットワーク形成——アーティストの国際キャリアの土台を築く実践の場となった。
Context Behind the Project
As curator, what I set out to design was a space for experiment and dialogue. Just as Rirkrit Tiravanija once turned a gallery into a kitchen, I wanted this exhibition to become somewhere new — a place between Tokyo and Paris where relationships between Japanese artists and French audiences could take shape. That wish was at the heart of this project.
How can Japanese contemporary art and its artists meet the local art scene in Paris, and generate genuine dialogue? This exhibition was a space to test that question — and a statement of intent from The Artscene, translating cultural codes between Japan and France.
キュレーターとして本展示でデザインしたのは「実験と対話の場」でした。かつてリクリット・ティラヴァニが展示会場を台所にしたように、この展示会では、東京とパリの間、日本の作家とフランスの観客との関係性がうまれる場所にしたい。そう願って企画しました。
パリにおいて、日本の現代美術・作家の表現が現地のアートシーンとどのように出会い、対話を生み出すことができるか。本展はその実験の場であり、日仏のカルチャーコードを翻訳する、The Artsceneの意思表明でもあります。
